Manche Anthologien wollen nur informativ sein. Diese zum Glück nicht: "Hotel Ver Mar" entstand aus einem konkreten Zusammenhang, dem Poesiefestival 2009 im nordportugiesischen Póvoa de Varzim. Das Büchlein versammelt 22 jüngere portugiesischsprachige Lyrikerinnen und Lyriker aus drei Kontinenten: Afrika mit den Ländern Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Moçambique und São Tomé e Príncipe, Lateinamerika mit Brasilien sowie Europa mit der spanischen Region Galicien und Portugal. Der Herausgeber und Übersetzer Michael Kegler stellt überwiegend neuere und hierzulande unbekannte Namen vor, die in den fünfziger bis siebziger Jahren des vergangenen Jahrhunderts geboren sind. Darunter befinden sich die Poetin und Literaturwissenschafterin Ana Paula Taveres oder Ondjaki aus Angola, von dem ein Roman in deutscher Übersetzung vorliegt, Ivo Machado, José Antonio Gonçalves, der 2005 mit 50 Jahren schon starb, und Ana Luísa Amaral aus Portugal sowie Conceição Lima aus São Tomé e Príncipe. Von keinem einzigen dieser Autoren liegt bis heute ein eigener Lyrikband in deutscher Übersetzung vor. Das weist in der hiesigen Rezeption auf eine Lücke hin, die es allmählich zu schliessen gilt.
